Workshop Materials

I really liked the workshop and I thought it was really nice to have the conversation about being human in STEM since those conversations and issues often feel ignored in STEM classes. I thought it did a really good job at being engaging by having a good balance of talking to us and explaining things, but then asking for our opinions and having us participate and contribute. And it was really nice to discuss and talk with peers and in a way see each other as more human with varied backgrounds.
The HSTEM Initiative hopes to create easily implementable workshops that foster conversation on and assess the diversity and inclusion in STEM at any institution.

We created and conducted a pilot workshop in Fall of 2016 to assess the main challenges underrepresented minorities face in STEM at Amherst. Attached below is the implementable workshop for the facilitator.
